MMAX is free and works without an account. This page says exactly what we store when you do create one, why, and how to get it back or delete it. It covers the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA/CPRA (California).
Browsing without an account
You can open the map, the gyms, the fighters, the cards, the records and the videos without signing up. In that mode we store no personal data about you and set no advertising cookie.
Your language preference is kept in your browser's local storage so the app opens in the right language next time. It stays on your device and is never sent to us as an identifier.
What we store when you have an account
Account: your email address, an authentication identifier, the sign-in provider you used, your display name, your avatar if you set one, your language and your unit system (kg or lb).
Profile: the answers you give in the entry form — disciplines, level, an optional weight, an optional stance, your country, your city, a reference point and a search radius. If you use the fight mode, your date of birth, so the age check can run.
Activity: the fighters, gyms and organisations you follow, your alarms, your gym check-ins, your predictions and quiz answers, your forum posts, and your Fightfinder matches and messages.
Preferences: a taste profile and the implicit signals that feed it — which content you opened, skipped or asked to see less of. This is what makes the home screen yours.
Technical: a push notification token if you enable alerts, and anonymised usage events (screen viewed, action, error) that are not tied to your identity.
Why, and on what legal basis
To provide the service you asked for — showing gyms near you, sending an alarm before a card, matching sparring partners: performance of a contract (GDPR art. 6.1.b).
To personalise what you see: your consent, given in the entry form and revocable at any time in Settings (art. 6.1.a).
To keep the service safe and lawful — moderation, age checks, abuse prevention: our legitimate interest and our legal obligations (art. 6.1.f and 6.1.c).
We do not profile you for advertising and we run no advertising network.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Under the CCPA/CPRA, that means we have not sold or shared personal information in the last twelve months.
Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf, under contract, to run the database and the app.
Video is embedded from the platform that hosts it, never re-hosted by us. When an embed plays, that platform may set its own cookies and see your IP address, under its own policy. No embed is loaded before you interact with a video.
If a court or a competent authority compels disclosure, we comply and, where the law allows, we tell you.
How long we keep it
Account and profile data: as long as your account exists.
Taste signals: rolling, and you can erase them at any time from “My data” without deleting your account.
Anonymised usage events: at most 24 months, and they cannot be traced back to you.
When you delete your account, personal data is deleted. Content you posted publicly in the forum may remain, detached from your identity, so conversations stay readable.
Your rights
Access and portability: “My data” shows everything we hold about your preferences and exports it as a JSON file, in one tap.
Rectification: “My preferences” lets you change every answer. Settings holds your account fields.
Erasure: “My data” erases your taste profile without touching your account. Deleting the account itself is in Settings.
Objection and restriction: you can turn off personalisation, alerts and location at any time in Settings.
Californian residents also have the right to know, to delete, to correct, to opt out of sale or sharing (which we do not do), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
You can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL.
Age
An account requires you to be at least 16 in the European Economic Area, and at least 13 elsewhere, unless your local law sets a higher age.
The fight mode of Fightfinder is closed to minors, without exception, and the check runs on the server — not in the app. Sparring mode is separate and does not open a fight.
If you believe a child has given us data, use the verified legal contact channel when it is published on this site and we will delete it.
Where the data lives
Our database is hosted in Europe. If we ever transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area, we do it under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Betting odds and affiliate offers only appear where they are legal, where you have passed the age check, and where you have opted in. The country used for that decision is derived on the server, never taken from your browser.
Changes to this page
We update this page when the product changes. The revision date at the top always reflects the current text, and a material change is announced in the app before it takes effect.
A verified legal contact channel will be published before the public beta.
